After the usual end-of-year break, we arrive in 2025 with renewed energy and motivation to start a new cycle.
Uncertainty and change are no longer new in the IT and software market. However, amidst unpredictability, there are some technological trends we can anticipate. Let’s look at a few of them:
Technology Trends: What to Expect in 2025?
Cloud and SaaS
Software commercialization models increasingly rely on the cloud, whose advantages are undeniable; scalability, flexibility, and accessibility are revolutionizing how companies manage their processes, and Software as a Service (SaaS) models are beginning to dominate the market.
Artificial Intelligence
Never has AI been talked about as much as now. However, what is the real impact this technology is having on national SMEs? More than just a buzzword, we hope that 2025 will be the year when managers can truly understand how AI can help improve their business results—from automating routine tasks to data management and predictive analytics. It is up to software houses and technology partners like PONTUAL to help pave the way.
Integration of Technological Solutions
Today, more and more companies are using multiple technological solutions to manage their business. From management software to vertical solutions, including the Internet of Things (which is particularly important for sectors like Industry and Logistics), the maximum potential of these tools can only be achieved through integration. A complex challenge, but one that will increasingly become a reality in the future.
Vertical Software
In terms of sector-specific solutions, three areas will stand out in the market. Human Capital Management, with HCM software, will be on the rise in the coming years—a study by Precedence Research estimates that the Human Resources segment will grow by 9% by 2034.
On the other hand, the investment in CRM software and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for data management are also growing areas, particularly in the SME market, where the implementation of these types of solutions still has plenty of room to grow.
Managed Services and Cybersecurity
IT management through specialized technology partners (Managed Services) is also a trend, as is the adoption of Cybersecurity solutions, which are expected to see increased demand as SME managers become more aware of the issue of cybercrime, which presents increasing risks for companies.

Technology Events
2024 was the year we created the Tech Business Summit (TBS), which brought together around 400 people at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira. A first edition that exceeded our expectations and confirmed what we suspected—it is possible to bring together hundreds of SME managers who want to learn more about the trends in our sector, share experiences, and above all, understand how technology can help their companies evolve. The bar is set high, but we believe that TBS has everything to become a reference event in the field of management technology for SMEs. See you at the 2025 edition?
On the other hand, we also created the Connect Days, in partnership with Sage and Cegid, with whom we are partners. The goal was to create a more practical event that allows our clients to better understand the software they already use and explore new features. An initiative to be repeated in 2025.
It is certain that technology and business are increasingly going hand in hand; however, what makes it all worthwhile are the people. Our clients, partners, and of course, our team.
Wishing you an inspiring 2025, with many successes and achievements in business and in life!
